Hi there! I’m Shelly Hughes, the Creator of Plant Based Foody.com
I wanted to create a blog to show people how easy it can be to make delicious vegan plant based food. You’ll notice the ingredients in the recipes are easy find in your local grocery store and online. One of my passions is to take traditional meals and find a way to create a vegan plant based version that taste delicious and is healthy at the same time.
By the way… I did not grow up vegan, but as an adult I needed to change my ways for health reasons. The more I learned about veganism and plant based cooking, the more driven I have become to share how easy it can be eat plant based. Not only does my health benefit but also the animals and the environment! It’s a Win! Win! Win!
My philosophy when it comes to making food is pretty simple:
#1: It has to taste good (or I won’t eat it!)
#2: Keep it simple
#3: Vegan Plant Based Ingredients and most of the time oil free.
Side note: I lean towards whole food plant based recipes ingredients but sometimes I use other vegan ingredients from the grocery store.
Changing habits is challenging, especially as an adult. When switching to a plant based diet, it can feel overwhelming; from where to start, what to make, how to make it, and sometimes, at first, you may miss what you used to eat. Without some guidance it may feel like you’re giving up your favorite foods.
That’s why I created PlantBasedFoody.com! You may give up certain ingredients but you don’t have to give up delicious tasting food. Eating plant based is delicious and not complicated especially when you learn some cooking techniques and tips that make it easy.
